Just returned from France in March. The weather was quiete the surprise. Our trip south to Andorra was rerouted due to the thousands of trucks stuck on the A9. Major blizzard hit norther Spain and southern Provence. Oh well.... headed north to Cahors, Albi and then through the Ardeche Gorge. What an adventure. In Albi, we encountered an excited town awaiting the winter Tour de France". Lance was coming through in 2 hours. One never knows what unexpected happenings are around the corner.

Great news for you adventurers who love to tour France but worry about driving and the language. During my trip last month, I met up with a friend who has launched a new business. He has a love of meeting people and driving his car. And so .... voila, a touring company is born.

TOURING PROVENCE WITH STEVE JESSEL (this may be of interest)

Wine tasting or cooking lessons. Both can be at your fingertips. I've experienced both. My last trip included a day with a new wine tasting expertl in the Sablet area. If you are looking to enhance your experiences and knowledge about wine, I'll put you in touch. The price is right and the experience great. If you are looking for a cooking day class during your visit, I would strongly suggest a day with Lydie Marshall. I spent 4 - three week trips at the Chateau in Nyons last year and was priviledged to be under her wing learning soooooo much. Day classes are available with Lydie. Just give me a call and I'll make the introduction. FYI: Lydie taught Woodie Allen how to cook lobster. That's what he wanted to do. Lydie owned a cooking school in NYC for 30 years. He is Parisien born and has taught me how to make so many wonderful dishes. Find out for yourself. Two houses are available for rent at the Chateau. Le Fauvette and Valentine.

BTW... if you need a place in Paris and simply can't find it posted here, email your requirements, I have about 12 additional apartments not listed.

Provence: The Firmin House that I introduced last month is now up for sale but can still be rented. It is very affordable, quiete pristine and in the Veille Village of Nyons. It is only available from May through September. If you are interested, it is now available as it is new on the market. Also in February, I was able to pick up two more great locations to rent in Piegon. One is La Bastide, a B&B (chambre d'hote) and La Rouvierre country apartments. The B&B, a delightful home with a grand entrance and lovely rooms also having a fabulous pool with cabana. Dorothy who speaks beautiful English, Dutch, German and French. Of course, I can only attest to the English as I wouldn't call my French beautiful. She then introduced me to Kurt, manager of a country place hosting 4 independent apartments. All quiet large and lovely.

For the most affordable car rental, use this link or the cute Kemwel car in the right column. They are big on matching prices. You pay in US dollars and... they seem to always upgrade my customers, including me. My last trip I ordered a VW Golf automatic, they first gave me a Tuson Hyundai which I traded for an A180 Mercedes. Oo la la ... not that was great little gem. I want one.

For those of you who need euros, this is the time to trade. Call me, or send me an email. I'll walk you through the process. I've been using CurrencyOnline. They are simply great. It's painless and they give advice on when to trade.

A bientot!

If you have questions, send me an email.

Bien Amicalement,
